The office of student life is looking to add new faces to the cheerleading squad.
Student life is hosting cheerleading tryouts from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday at Loftin Student Center.
Jorge Posada, director of student life, acting coordinator for the cheerleading squad, reinforced the standard qualifications and the basic aptitude hopeful candidates will need to possess.
“It’s pretty straightforward,” Posada said. “They will be given skill-based cheers to perform.”
Posada will be sitting in as a judge as each prospective cheerleader will be given a cheer and dance to perform that incorporates various motions along with the cheers.
The candidates are allotted time to commit the cheers to memory prior to the tryout.
After each applicant performs, the candidate will be interviewed by the judging panel.
