Students should take advantage of events

This college offers students a wide range of activities.

Speeches, lectures, plays, festivals and clubs are a few of the things students can do, and that is just to name a few.

What is encouraging is that many faculty members give their assignments and extra credit to their students to partake in many of these activities.

Political science professors offer extra credit to students who attend Hot Potato lectures hosted by the Methodist Student Center.

Theater professors even require their students to see college productions.

However, there is something more teachers should do.

Students should take it upon themselves to take advantage of the opportunities the school gives to them to have fun for free.

Well, not exactly free.

After all, the student activity fee that is charged along with tuition goes to many of the events at this college.

The fact that students are paying for a service should be enough of an incentive to get them to participate, but sometimes it takes the encouragement of faculty to get students motivated to take part in activities on campus.

Faculty should continue to encourage their students to enrich their educational experience by taking part in the activities that make life on this campus that much more fun.
