A campuswide water outage alert was sent through phone calls and text alerts on behalf of the Northeast Lakeview College public relations department.

Elsa Cantu, public relations communication coordinator at NLC, said all buildings were affected.

The source of the outage was a water-main break in Universal City, Kathleen Labus, NLC director of public relations, said in an email.

The initial notification to students was via phone call at 7:30 a.m. today.

The phone call informed students of the outage and also communicated classes would continue as usual. At 8:22 a.m., a follow-up text message notified students the outage and classes were still underway.

A final text alert at 8:50 a.m. advised students the water had been restored.
