The celebration will begin at 12:30 p.m. April 23 with “the shortest fiesta parade” between Live Oak and Cypress, followed by a remarks by the president, Dr. Ric Baser.

There will be a giant birthday card for students to sign, music and cupcakes, Renata Serafin, director of community and public relations, said.

On April 18, 1995, the board of trustees approved NVC to become the fourth college of the Alamo Colleges family, Serafin said.

The celebration will involve events throughout year, all related to the number 20.

On Jan. 20, the NVC cafeteria offered free 20 oz. fountain drinks with the purchase of lunch or dinner.

During the month of February, students were offered 20 percent off at the bookstore.

On March 20, Menchies Alamo Ranch offered students and faculty 20 percent off entire purchase and throughout the anniversary year, it will offer the same discount from noon to 3 p.m. Monday-Friday.

“We are partnering up with different entities and working with them to get students discounts,” Serafin said.

Students should visit alamo.edu/nvc for more information, Serafin said.
