In recognition of Financial Literacy Month, St. Philip’s College Tigers Roar In Providing Enrollment Service, known as STRIPES, will host two class enrollment workshops.
Students who need assistance in enrolling for the summer and fall 2015 semesters may attend the workshop from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. May 2 in Room 108 of the center for learning resources at the main campus.
The welcome center also will offer assistance for financial aid.
Ana Lisa Garza, director of student success, and her team organize this event monthly.
Tentatively every first Saturday of the month, Garza and her team of five assist on average of three to five students in the enrollment process.
There is not much traffic on Saturdays, Garza said.
Garza and her team help students get past AlamoENROLL requirements and proceed to academic advising and financial aid assistance.
“We help students navigate their way through obstacles of enrollment,” Garza said.
Although presently, this service is only offered one Saturday a month, its availability will change soon St. Philip’s College switches to a four-day work week in June and July.
Services are in the works to be offered Monday through Thursday; however, the specific date is not yet secure.
