Texas A&M University-San Antonio will offer eligible transfer students automatic acceptance on two Jaguar Days: May 21 and May 26.
Students must complete the online Apply Texas form, register for the event and meet eligibility criteria.
Students must submit an application on applytexas.org at least 48 hours prior to registering for the event, said enrollment specialist Roxanne Zavala.
When registering, students choose a time and date to speak to an admissions specialist, who will accept or decline the application that day.
“Appointments will be offered in 30-minute increments,” admissions Counselor Daniella Gonzalez-Dendy said.
Admission requirements for Texas A&M University-San Antonio are the following:
• 2.0 GPA or higher
• completion of 45 academic transferable hours
• meets the Texas State Initiative requirements
• and must eligible to return to all previously attended colleges or universities.
In addition, students must submit an official transcript from every institution attended, Zavala said.
The transcript must be in a sealed envelope from the sending institution, dated within the year and on official transcript paper.
Transfer advisers and admission counselors will be available to review unofficial transcripts and give the students an unofficial credit evaluation, Gonzalez-Dendy said.
Students who are accepted receive a confirmation sheet that day. They can enroll in classes starting this summer and through fall 2015.
“The acceptance is good for up to a year,” Gonzalez-Dendy said.
Students who want to attend the spring 2015 semester can apply now and if accepted, counselors will help them submit a “change of term” application, Gonzalez-Dendy said.
The appointments are in Room 111 of the welcome center of Madla Building at the main campus 1-6 p.m. May 21 and 9 a.m.- 1 p.m. May 26.
Financial aid counselors and academic advisers will assist new students at the event.
Campus tours will start every hour, Gonzalez-Dendy said.
