The article, “Pathways model prevents students from taking courses that do not transfer” May 19, showed excellent progress being made for students such as myself.

San Antonio College is the third school I have attended where not all of my credit hours have transferred.

Placing a degree plan to prevent credit hours that are not needed would save not only me, but also the taxpayers money.

The new model would allow students to receive the extra advising help needed to only pursue hours toward their specific degree.

The plan sets the pace for students to essentially get in and get out; it is all about saving time and money.

Not taking extra hours makes me one step closer to my degree in a shorter time frame with a little extra cash in my pocket.

I am excited to hear more news on the proposed idea.
