The application process for four seats on the Alamo Colleges board of trustees has been open since Jan. 20, yet as of Wednesday afternoon only the four incumbents have submitted applications.
The May 7 election includes the District 1 through District 4 seats.
The deadline for applications is 5 p.m. Friday. Applications should be submitted to board liaison Sandra Mora at Killen Center.
Potential candidates must be six-month residents of the district they are running for and a resident of Texas for 12 months.
Applicants must be a U.S. citizen 18 years or older, a qualified voter of the district and not been previously convicted of a felony or ruled mentally incapacitated.
The winner of the election of District 1, 2 and 3 positions will serve on the board until 2022, while the winner of District 4 will serve until 2020.
