Student clubs will be in the mall recruiting new members.

Student life will be hosting an Organizational Showcase 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday in the mall. This event happens every semester and is the students’ chance to learn about and join one of the many clubs on campus.
The showcase is a great way for the clubs to gain new members and for students to get involved in their school, said Mark Bigelow, interim director of student life.
“College is an experience and it is about more than just going to class,” he said.
He said class and academics are important, but “there are studies out there that show that the students that are more engaged on the campus tend to be more successful.”
The organizational showcase has more than 30 organizations signed up to attend and will include clubs such as the Anime Club, Catholic Student Association, the Hammock Club, Parkour Club, SAC Gaming Society and Society of Women Engineers.
Students who attend the showcase but don’t see a club they are interested in should not fret. They can visit orgsync.com and sign in with their ACES ID to find other clubs.
If they are still unable to find the club they want, they can start their own with five student members and a faculty adviser.
If the weather doesn’t cooperate, the event will be held in the Fiesta Room of Loftin Student Center.
