Because this month is LGBT History Month and National Coming Out Day, when I saw there was a center spread dedicated to this, I was pleasantly surprised. I wasn’t even aware that there was an actual National Coming Out Day, let alone month.

I found the article to be very informative and sympathetic to the cause. It really helps educate those who aren’t really familiar with the history and struggles of the LGBT community.

The coming out story of Solomon Johnson is truly an inspirational and heartwarming one.

The story to me sent out a message of hope to the reader who also might have struggles within themselves, to be strong and courageous in who they really are. I was really impressed with the civil right timeline of LGBT rights throughout history.

It was interesting that California had to actually pass a law preventing people using the defense of “gay panic.” How can that actually be a defense, let alone a viable one?

All in all, I thought it was a well-written, informative article and I want to give gratitude and congratulation on all your hard work.
