Regarding the article, “Mars event may launch students into space careers, director says” published Oct. 1, the event is being presented as a way to engage children in activities associated with NASA.

This article skews more towards elementary and middle school-age children.

There should be a program that is geared toward high school- and college-age young adults as well.

This would allow for older students to have access to the same directed learning opportunities that are being offered to younger children.

It would directly impact the learning potential for many more students.

It would be disappointing for many older students to feel they do not have the same level of attention to the sciences that is being directed at a younger demographic.
