Alumni of this college will now have the opportunity to give back to the college.
All faculty and staff were invited to a meeting to discuss the resurrection of the San Antonio College Alumni Association Thursday in the visual arts center with President Robert Zeigler.
“What I hope to do is to have the Alumni Association serve as a group to help serve college events and help with fundraising opportunities,” Zeigler said. He said the association would help raise awareness of this campus and will be a network group with a lot of opportunities to seek help from alumni.
“It’s a great opportunity for people who have attended SAC,” he said. “It’s also a good opportunity at the college for support and it will be of benefit for everyone.”
He said the association will help create a better relationship between the college and the community.
“The association can create some camaraderie,” he said. “The alumni is more of a link from those here and those who were here and have now done other things.”
He said the association is open to any faculty or staff member or members from the community who would like to participate.
“There are a lot of opportunities for contacts and connections,” he said. He said students may receive a direct impact from the alumni because they could help with scholarships and many other problems.
