Playing host to more than 3,000 high school students, the sixth annual Technology Exposition and Career Fair will have more than enough young minds to reach out and touch.
Incorporating several big-name vendors and more than 27 departments across the Alamo Community College District, the event will have an abundance of booths.
The expo will be from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. March 27 in Candler Physical Educational Center.
Community college departments, such as the San Antonio College engineering technologies/geographical information systems here, will be presenting demonstrations exploring the technological aspects of the engineering program.
Several major vendors also will be presenting with their own career booths.
Ranging from the tech savvy Best Buy Geek Squad to the VIA Metropolitan Transit, these vendors will be looking for those success-oriented individuals who could have a career within the organization.
Dr. Charlotte Wolf, director of instructional technologies said, “We want future and current students to learn about how technology can be applied to better their lives. Hopefully, this inspires and motivates them enough to lead to a future job opportunity that ultimately becomes their career.”
One-on-one advising for such topics as bilingual financial aid, tech prep and academic counseling will be provided to clarify any questions.
Door prizes and scholarships also will be awarded to several lucky students. Music, hot dogs and drinks will be provided.
