The Dance Club will teach line dancing 12:15 p.m.-2 p.m. Wednesday in the mall south of Loftin Student Center for Rodeo Roundup.
Rodeo Roundup is a campuswide festival to capture some of the enthusiasm for all things western while the San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo is in town.
The campus event will be from 11 a.m.-1 p.m.
Line dancing is a western dance where participants line up in a row without partners and perform a pattern of steps to country music.
Members discussed this at a meeting Jan. 30 led by President Monique Rodriguez, freshmen dance/kinesiology major, in Candler Physical Education Center.
In addition, the club plans to sell pickles and Chinese candy.
They did not set prices, but they said they would be determined at event. Funds will go toward academic-related trips.
Members attended The Alumni Sam Houston State Workshop and Performance classes at Sam Houston State in Huntsville last semester with the money raised. They also replenish costumes the club uses for events.
The Dance Club meets at 3:15 p.m. the second Thursday of the month in Room 146 in Candler.
