This college is hosting an Ebola information session from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. today in McCreless Theater.

Anil Mangla, assistant director of health for the San Antonio Metropolitan Health District, will discuss the mechanics behind Ebola, such as transmission, symptoms, recovery and prevention.

After the presentation, Mangla will answer questions about the virus.

The presentation is for all Alamo College students, faculty and staff.

“My final goal is to make sure that when I am done, people have significantly less fear of Ebola,” Mangla said.

Mangla received a post-doctorate in infectious diseases from the University of Minnesota and has a wide range of experience on Ebola.

Mangla has seen different cases of Ebola in countries such as South Africa, Swaziland and Lesotho.
