The office of student life will host its monthly pingpong tournament where students can compete and win prizes.
The event is only for students who attend this college and possess a student ID card.
The competition times are 1:30-3:30 p.m. today and 2-4 p.m. Nov. 13 in the second floor game room of Loftin Student Center. Sign-up sheets are located in the student life office, room 260 of Loftin. Student life hosts several events for students at this college.
“We try to touch every student here at SAC — the runners, basketball players and anyone that studies here with these types of competitions,” Marisa Martinez, senior specialist, said.
“Last month people were playing for two hours straight because no one wants to lose,” she said. “This month we had to use two days instead of one because it’s so competitive.”
Prizes for the winners, such as iPod shuffles, Spurs tickets and Kindle Fires, come out of the student activity funds each student pays when registering for classes.
“The games will last until winners are declared, so don’t worry about the time frame posted on the flyers,” Martinez said.
