With fall semester underway, the office of student life is hosting its annual weeks of welcome at this college. The events help students build a community with each other, Richard Farias, interim director of student life, said.
“This is a great opportunity for students to get engaged with our community on campus,” Farias said. Two weeks of welcome kicked off Monday and runs through Sep. 3.
Monday’s festivities included T-shirt and snack giveaways and a live help desk staffed by the office of technology services
The giveaways continue from 9 a.m.-1p.m. Tuesday in the mall, and the help desk continues from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Tuesday in the lobby of Moody Learning Center.
During Wednesday’s Success Zone students will earn raffle tickets to win a gift bag and gift cards to the bookstore.
The Success Zone will run from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Wednesday in the mall area.
“This year we will have a local radio station that will feed live music to this event,” Farias said. KXXM-FM, a rock-pop radio station, will do the live feed.
