The last karaoke event of the semester will be 11 a.m.- 1 p.m. Monday in the Fiesta Room of Loftin Student Center.

The office of student life is sponsoring the event with musical selections provided by disc jockey Masquerade.

“Come out and have a good time. Enjoy our friendly karaoke community,” Carrie Hernandez, senior student success specialist, said Sept. 24 during an interview.

The event cost $175, which is paid for by the student activity fee, Hernandez said. Students pay $1 per semester hour for the student activity fee.

Student life hosts the event to alleviate stress, she said.

From past event turnout, at least 150 people are expected to attend, with about 24 people actually singing, Hernandez said.

Students and staff can expect to laugh and be entertained by performances, she said.

“It’s fun and entertaining; get excited to hear your favorite song,” she said.

The smiles Hernandez saw at previous karaoke events gives her the confidence to guarantee students will have fun, she said.
