Expert will teach simple yoga techniques to help with stress.

The student life health promotions office will be hosting Body and Soul 11 a.m.–1 p.m. Oct. 27 in the Fiesta Room of Loftin Student Center.

Health promotions include events and education opportunities that encourage healthy lifestyles.

Guru Charles Gerth will teach yoga poses and breathing techniques. This event is for staff and, faculty and students at this college only.

According to adviser Mary Dayton, all student life activities can be accessed in calendars on OrgSync.

“That’s the best way to get any information … all information on the events is there and RSVPs as well,” she said. “It’s helps to know how many will be coming.”

Dayton said the event is going to be light.

“It’s not going to be a workout where you would get a sweat on … it’s more to learn how to deal with stress,” she said. “Yoga poses will help with keeping you relaxed … simple things like that.”

Students may need to register for access using their college email and create a password.

Once registration is complete, students must select ‘My Tools’ to view the student life calendar and service opportunities.
