The Student Government Association, which represents students, will conduct its first meeting of the semester noon to 1 p.m. Monday in the craft room in Loftin Student Center.
The meeting is open to the public.
Psychology sophomore Harley Williams who is the president said any student can join SGA.
“Student government is the voice of the students. We will represent for them on a district and administrative level,” Williams said. “Anything that happens on campus that will affect these students, they will be able to ask questions and share their thoughts with us.”
SGA addresses anything that can affect the students, she said.
An example of an issue SGA could address would be adding or moving handicap parking to more convenient locations, she said.
Financial services sophomore Christopher Scoggins treasurer of SGA, said one of their main goals is to bring the students and the administration together so they can agree on what is best for the college.
The first meetings will be a meet-and-greet with snacks and cold drinks to allow students to meet the SGA leadership team.
For more information, students can stop by the SGA office in Room 260B in Loftin or follow their Facebook page at www.facebook.com/SACSGA1/.
Office hours are 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday-Thursday.
