This college has something special for students who excel in their quest for a degree — the Distinguished Graduate Program.
Students who graduated in December or plan to graduate in May can apply in the program of their major.
They must have at least a 3.2 grade point average and be willing to participate in projects to promote graduation.
The deadline for the application is Jan. 27, but if students cannot submit it by then, they can contact program coordinators for a possible extension, Lauren Sjulin, senior coordinator in the office of former students and alumni, said Thursday in an interview.
If students do not know who is in charge of their programs, they can contact Sjulin at 210-486-0904
Applicants must submit an application and essay as well as a signed promise to participate in service programs promoting graduation. The application is available at www.alamo.edu/sac/distinguished-graduates/.
