#tbt to Nov. 9, 1984 — it’s time for some nostalgia. First off, that is a lot of pipes! The leaky pipes came from Loftin Student Center in a repair that required replacement of every pipe under the building. Next, a look at the air conditioning and heating control panels from this college had at the time, as well as stories on Moody Learning Center getting more classes and an insight on the history of the construction technology department at this college. Lastly, a reminiscent look on Paula Green, former student and poet, whose poetry highlighted African American history and plights affecting teenagers. The following poem, “Those of Yesterday,” is a call to remember African American’s challenges through history: “This is a time for a people so proud. In the spirit that holds us together let everyone be bound…. Black Americans left a mark in history we’ll see from day to day. Freedom a vast goal we’ve shared along the way. If not in body, then in mind and soul; Remember those of yesterday.”
