#tbt to March 24, 2006. On the front page, a photo of a damaged transformer being uninstalled east of Moody Learning Center is featured. The college was closed for one day because of the electrical failure. Nothing like an impromptu day off. Also featured is an increase to tuition of 5%, ending on — one moment, please — $252 for six credit hours. (Doing a little research). Six credit hours in 2021 cost $594. And in a switch of tone to tackle other (old) news, or blotter, the issue featured anonymous reports from students and employees. Theft of personal items dominates the list. It is unknown whether those two ex-boyfriend incidents are connected. Similarly, Ranger staff featured a “Verbatim” section, showing responses to the question, “Do you like group projects in your classes?” To this editor’s surprise, those who answered mostly appreciated it.
