A minor three-vehicle accident occurred at noon Aug. 26 on San Pedro Avenue when drivers tried to avoid a cyclist riding through the crosswalk between this college and the San Pedro Library.

Conchita Espinosa, San Antonio police officer, said those involved in the accident were either not injured or suffered minor injuries.

Despite the three-vehicle accident involving two SUVs and a sewage tanker, the impact on traffic was minor, Espinosa said.

While this college’s police department wasn’t involved with the incident, deputy chief Joe Pabon advised that pedestrians at a crosswalk should wait for the light to be in their favor and cyclists should dismount their bike prior to crossing the street.

Pabon also said drivers should keep their eyes on the road at all times and if a pedestrian crosses in front of them they should slow down or try to get out of the way since pedestrians always have the right of way.
